Before the Woodhens even blink - it’s gone. The currawong doesn’t wait, doesn’t hesitate. It reads the moment like a blade reads the wind and cuts. Wings folded, eyes burning gold, it drops from nowhere and snatches the prize right out from under those bewildered Woodhens who just look at each other. Then at the empty ground.
