This April 2018 shearwater research fortnight was a busy one – we processed about 180 birds – either lavarging to monitor plastic, or necropsy dead ones to see what plastic was present. We had two film crews here – BBC making a major plastic documentary for September screening in UK, and Huffington Post TV for screening in USA in July. They were here to film what is the worst example of plastic and seabirds in the world- and spread the message what humans are doing to these birds by careless sue of plastic. The weather was very kind to those birds that were not impacted by plastic and those that flew away had a good start to life on the ocean. Also along was NSW Greens senator Justin Field who raised the issue in parliament and press in Sydney
