OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA June 3This was the 84th Friends of Lord Howe Island weeding trip. Twenty-two People came along, and hours was contributed to conservation on the island. A variety of weed species were tackled, including a garden escape Sweet pea, and the coastal morning glory Ipomoea cairica. We also continued follow up at the Edie’s Glen weeds to remove weeds such as Fleabane, Crofton weed and Solanum nigrum.

 

Afternoon walks included a low tide walks at Ned’s Beach and Middle Beach, Malabar walk, North Bay and Little Island. A highlight was last night we were invited for drinks at Government House and the formal marriage of two of our Friends John and Ian
